Professor Tian-Li Wu has been invited to participate in the workshop titled “GaN/Si: an Enabler for FR3 Applications?” at the 2025 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium (IMS), which will be held on June 16, 2025, in San Francisco, USA.

This workshop, organized by imec and Incize, brings together leading experts from both academia and industry—including Intel, Infineon, Sony, Aixtron, IQE, GLOBALFOUNDRIES, TagoreTech, and the University of Bristol. Professor Wu will join them in exploring the applications of Gallium Nitride (GaN) on silicon substrates, with a special focus on its potential for 6G communication in the FR3 band (7–24 GHz).

The discussions will cover topics such as materials science, foundry perspectives, device scaling, reliability, integration with existing technologies, and the deployment of GaN-on-Si in telecom infrastructure and user devices. The workshop will also address the market outlook and competitive advantages of GaN-on-Si technologies.
